Mac for all seasons: Lipstick Picks

I've been wanting to do this post for a while now and purchased a couple of new colours months ago with this in mind. Mac lipstick comes in so many colours and I love the idea of having a lippie 'wardrobe' for all year round. It's also quite an appealing concept that lipstick can change any basic look to suit a season or mood. In the photos above, I am wearing mascara, a smidge of eyeliner, a sweep of neutral blush and powder: the lip colours therefore become the focal point of the make-up.

Here are my favourite Mac lippies for the four seasons:

Autumn/ Fall: Craving
An Amplified Creme formula, this plum shade packs some pigment to give a perfect Autumn shade to your lips. This works well for those (like me) who aren't too confident wearing bold colours.

Winter: Viva Glam 1
This matte brown-red is surprisingly wearable, especially if you have pale winter skin. The colour is striking, yet can be toned down with blotting. Because it's a matte, it has great lasting power, but isn't as drying as some formulas.

Spring: Angel
This is a perfect pink for the Spring. It's a Frost finish, but doesn't look shimmery on the lips. For Spring pastel trends, it works well without giving you a stark, chalky finish.

Summer: Shy Girl
This light coral-beige is a Cremesheen, so it is nice and moisturising on Summer lips. I love how this is a neutral tone, but gives a touch of coral to the lips for the less adventurous. And let's be honest- no-one wants to look over-done under the sun's hot rays.

What are your favourite Mac lipsticks for each season?
