Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation (Shade 2 Fair) Review

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Shade 2
Having owned the Charlotte Tilbury magic Foundation for over a year, I feel qualified to write this review. For new readers, let me first say that I have fairly dry and occasionally sensitive skin. My skin is usually clear, but I am dotted with moles and have some redness around my nose (you win some, you lose some!)

This cream foundation promises full coverage. It also has the word 'magic' in the name, so you do tend to go in thinking that you will be airbrushed like some Hollywood movie star. I'll give you the long and short of it: this isn't magic...

If you have chosen to read on, I can definitely share with you some plus points to this product:

1. It does offer a medium buildable coverage which sets semi-matte- always nice for everyday use.

2. It has many different shade options- my shade, number 2, is perfectly pale and cool-toned for my NW13 skin in the colder months.

3. It doesn't require lots of powdering down (on me, anyway)
However, it requires a lot of blending to prevent it settling in places you don't want it to and looking streaky. It works best with a blending sponge or fingers, but it is quite a thick consistency so you have to work with it. For such a thick product, it doesn't cover everything, even when built up in layers.

It contains Viatmin C, mushroom extract and hyaluronic filling spheres (basically, moisture-adhering hyaluronic acid). This does give it skincare benefits and it claims to be good for all skin types, but I wouldn't trust this on dry skin unless primed and/or moisturised really well beforehand.

In summary then, the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is nice, but not anything I would necessarily re-purchase in any hurry.

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?
